PARTS Hardware You need 8 bolts and 8 nuts to secure the trucks to the board. The key here is to make sure that you select the right length. If you are using a riser pad, you'll want to make sure that your bolts are long enough. Some hardware packs like Shorty’s Silverado’s come with a colored bolt. This bolt makes it easier to distinguish the front from the back of the board after landing a trick. The most common size is a standard 1". This will also fit most riser pad set ups. |

Riser Pads We like to recommend riser pads but it all depends on your style of ride and what feel you like best. Riser pads will serve several purposes. First off, they will elevate your trucks from your deck to help prevent "wheel bite". Wheel bite is when your wheels rub your deck on a hard landing or turn. Second, risers will soften your ride. In addition, they will absorb a lot of shock from a hard landing which could help prevent the splitting of the wood between the truck holes. |
